I chose these ones because i could apply the rule of third and they would look linked when put near the pictures of the other character. It also had the angle that i wanted to fit perfectly to the theme.

I chose this image to frame because it looked the best to use and i applied the frame by using the layer multiply and combining both the image and the downloaded frame.

This was my original photograph that i used to edit into, it had the mysteriousness that i wanted and the intended angle that i was looking for.

This is my edited picture, i had to edit it and change the brightness/saturation settings. I had to make the face more red and apply the rule of third.

The photograph fit well in the poster, it was able to bring the genre out and it was able to make the poster successful and show the link between the characters.

The DVD box was successful with the photograph, it was able to bring out the effect and work well with the theme between the characters.

Key photograph no.2 - Marco

I wanted to pick a shot that matched the theme and could follow the rule of third , this is why i picked the ones i chose. The framing and angles had to fit well while beig around the other characters.

I edited this photograph, by adding more brightness and editing the saturation and adding more darkness in the shadow. I had to check the rule of thirds and picked this image to be perfect for my intention.

I used this photograph for my frame and i had to change the resolution and add layer multiply to combine them both.

This was my original picture that i chose from the contact sheet, it had the angle and the mysteriousness that i wanted for the poster and the DVD box. I had to change the brightness during the editing

Key photograph no. 1- Aby

I chose these ones because it looked more mysterious and scientific at the same time compared to the other ones. Also i needed it to be in the right angle and the shadow was an important factor. The framing had to have me look at one angle without being in the middle of the image.

This was the photoshop edited photograph, i added some temperature and changed the saturation, adding more brightness to the image. I had to consider the framing and the rule of thirds and edit via photoshop>image adjustment.

I added a frame to my edited photoshop, i had to change the resolution and download frame to choose from and used the layer multiply to combine them both.

The photo had the thriller, psychological, mysterious theme into it and i could apply the rule of third to it. I also thought i could change the brightness on it and i felt that it was suitable for the poster and DVD box.

The photograph worked well with the poster, i felt like it was successful into creating the theme i wanted it to for the poster. The photograph worked well with the other ones on the poster and i was able to link it with the genre. The brightness and the red theme in it was able to bring out the mysteriousness i wanted.

The photograph worked well for the DVD box cover, i was able to show the effect i wanted , and it was able to fit the purpose of the photograph, by having a mysterious effect. It was able to contribute success by showing a strong link between the characters.

Gregory Crewdson- Blogpost 2- Aby

Gregory Crewdson was born in brooklyn on September 6th 1962. He graduated early at John Dewy High School. He was part of a punk rock group called 'The Speedies' when he was a teenager. Hewlett Packard used one of the groups songs in an advertisement to promote digital cameras. Crewdson studied photography in the 1980s at SUNY Purchase and he also received his fine 'Master of  fine arts' at Yele University. He is now a professor at the same university.




Gregory Crewdson's photos are very dramatic and cinematic. They are staged photos in which he hired models and places to set up a scene to take a picture. They often feature disturbing, surreal events. Crewdson is very different to most other photographers as he plans a photo and sets it up.

In this photograph, we see a women looking at her window which looks like a painting. It looks really surreal and confuses you about weather or not she is looking through the window or a painting. The background of the image is dark even with the lighting, resulting in a night like theme.


The photo shows us a middle age woman and a teenage boy in a dining table. They seem to be mother and son waiting for the father and the son seems worried, it has a very surreal effect. The outside looks very dark but as it gets into the middle, it is very colorful. The boy is more leaned into the dark part of the image while the middle age women is in the colorful stage.

This photo we see a daughter returning to her mother. we know this because it seems like the daughter has been away for awhile and the mother stopped and got out of her car because she is surprised. The way the daughter is addressed was in a surreal state.

Steven Meisel was born on 1955, his fascination for beauty and models started at a young age. At that time Meisel would not play with toys but would draw women all the time.He used to turn to magazines like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar as sources of inspiration for his drawings. Meisel dreamt of women from the high society like Gloria Guinness and Babe Paley, who personified to his eyes the ideas of beauty and high society. Other icons were his mother and his sister.
To meet famous model Twiggy, the 12-year-old Meisel stood outside waiting for her at Melvin Sokolsky's studio.

He studied at the High School of Art and Design and Parsons The New School for Design where he attended different courses but, as affirmed in an interview with Ingrid Sischy for Vogue France, he finally majored in fashion illustration.

He was known for being one of the most successful artist in fashion photography.

Dan Boulton- Aby

Dan Boulton was born in Enfield, North London on 1973. His works that combine documentary, street photography and fine art has been featured in Document Skateboard and Plus1 magazines and the book 'Emulsion Stew'.
He describes his photography as a fine art photographer, but the work is essentially documentary in its approach, fine art photography is a photography created in accordance with the vision of the artist as a photographer.
